Maa Jhadeswari Degree College, Dhama

The College situated on the left Bank of river Mahanadi. Dhama, about 25 kms. South of Sambalpur town, is a historical village of learning, culture, trade and commerce. To fulfill the long cherished aspiration of the people of 10 nos. of Gram-Panchayat of Maneswar block, a Degree College, named after the presiding deity of the locality Jhadeswari Devi, was established in the year 1998.

Maa Jhadeswari Degree College stands in a picturesque background between the river Mahanadi on the one hand and Raibata hills on the other. The State Highway No.15 connecting Sambalpur Sonepur has passed through touching the College Campus.

+3 Arts stream was opened in the year 1998 and the College since is recognized by Govt. of Odisha and affiliated to Sambalpur University, Jyotivihar, Burla.

As Maa Jhadeswari Degree College, Dhama stands for the philosophy “Education for all” it caters the need of higher education in a rural locality dominated by SC, ST and Socio-economically backward population. A big segment of the students are girl students.
